Parent Guidance Specialist

A parenting coach and consultant for more than 30 years, Sheila is an editor and contributing writer toBay Area Parents of Teens magazine and the co-developer of the Parentmaking Educators Training Program. She has also trained and supervised preschool teachers in leading parenting groups. Sheila teaches workshops that focus on parents’ relationships with teens, particularly mothers with daughters, including the “Empowering Your Daughter” and “Parenting Teenagers” workshops at Parents Place.

In addition to her expertise in raising adolescent daughters, Sheila is an authority on girls’ body issues. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Pennsylvania State University. She holds two master’s degrees from Hahnemann Medical School: in art therapy and clinical psychology.
